Acidosis is fairly common.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Type 2 Diabetes&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In type 2 diabetes (Non-insulin dependent diabetes), also known as adult onset diabetes, patients do not depend on insulin. Some important points regarding type 2 diabetes are -&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1. It develops slowly and usually milder and more stable.&lt;br /&gt;2. This form occurs mainly in adults. Women who have had large babies are also prone to develop this type of diabetes later in life.&lt;br /&gt;3. Insulin may be produced by pancreas but action is impaired.&lt;br /&gt;4. The person is usually overweight.&lt;br /&gt;5. Acidosis is infrequent.&lt;br /&gt;6. The majority of patients improves with weight loss and is maintained on diet therapy.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Diabetes Diet Plan&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1. Dietary calorie should be 60-70% from carbohydrates, 15-20% from protein and 15-25% from fat. The minimum amount of carbohydrates should be 100g to prevent ketosis.&lt;br /&gt;2. Fat with high poly unsaturated fatty acids like vegetable oil is preferred (sunflower oil, gingelly oil, corn oil) than animal fat and hydro-generated fat which contain more saturated fatty acids. Fish and chicken are preferred than meat and egg.&lt;br /&gt;3. Simple sugars should be restricted since they are easily absorbed and have a high glycaemic index.&lt;br /&gt;4. Whole wheat is preferred to rice because it contains ‘Ascarbose’ which allow carbohydrate to be absorbed slowly.&lt;br /&gt;5. Food exchange lists should be followed to prevent hypo and hyperglycaemia. The exchange systems should be followed to avoid monotony, dietary constancy and flexibility.&lt;br /&gt;6. Sodium intake is to be no more than 6g daily. Sodium is restricted to 3g in hypertensive diabetic patients.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Diabetes Foods&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Foods that can be eaten as much as one wants – Green leafy vegetables, fruits except banana, lemon; clear soups, onion, salads, mint, spices, plain coffee or tea, skimmed and butter milk&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Foods that can be eaten in moderation – Fats, meat, egg, cereals and pulses&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Foods to be avoided – Simple sugars (glucose, syrup, sweets and honey), dried fruits, cake, fried foods, candy, alcohol and nuts&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Nutritional Requirements for Diabetics&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Carbohydrates – High carbohydrate and high fiber diet improve insulin binding and increase in monocyte insulin receptor binding. High carbohydrate diet is likely to elevate serum triglyceride levels (endogenous cholesterol). Hence carbohydrate is maintained to about 50% of total calories. Most carbohydrates should be in form of polysaccharides such as bread, cereals, beans, etc. Rapidly absorbed mono and disaccharides such as sweets, chocolates and sweetened drink should be avoided.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Proteins – A diet high in protein is good for the health of diabetics because it supplies the essential amino acids needed for tissue repair. Or the speaker played with the slides as if to entertain rather than edify?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Such idiosyncratic presentation techniques have helped give rise to the calumnious phrase "death by PowerPoint". PowerPoint and other types of visual aids can significantly enhance a presentation if properly used. And significantly detract from it if improperly used.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is normal for each person to have his or her individual style for using slides. Such individuality often adds to the effectiveness of the presentation; however excessive individuality damages clarity and comprehension, putting effectiveness at risk.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Fortunately, this problem can be easily resolved. By recognizing and applying three fundamental principles of slide presentations, you can make "death by PowerPoint" completely disappear.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Fundamental Principles of Slide Presentations&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1. Use the slides; don't be controlled by them&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is important to recognize that slides are a visual aid. And the most important part of this term is "aid". Too many speakers seem to believe that if they show enough slides, their presentation will automatically be successful.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The opposite is true. No matter how good the slides, if they assume center stage, the presentation will almost certainly be less effective than it could be.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2. Show that you are in charge&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Keep in mind that the greatest visual aid is YOU. People come to hear what you have to say because they believe that you have something important to impart to them. So they want to see you, hear your voice, and watch your facial expressions, and observe body movements in order to better understand and evaluate your ideas and information.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you start your presentation by immediately turning off the lights, and keep them off until the presentation is finished, it is almost as if you are not there. It would be easier and more convenient for everyone just to send the audience the presentation as a videocassette or DVD for them to play at their leisure.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3. Present a "win-win" situation&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;To be truly effective, slides must:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Help the speaker deliver a better presentation&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Help the audience better understand the presentation&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is not a question of either/or. The speaker and the audience must both benefit; otherwise, neither one will. This means that you must deliver a good presentation both in terms of content and slides.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is generally a good idea to prepare the first draft of your presentation without any slides, then return to your text to see where slides are really needed. This will ensure that you do not drown the audience in slides - and that each slide is truly useful.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you take these three fundamental principles fully on board, you are already well on your way to an effective presentation. Here are a few practical suggestions to make your inherently good presentation even better.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A. Use build-up slides&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Let’s try an experiment. Open a newspaper or magazine to any page. Keep looking at it, but try not to read anything on the page. It is virtually impossible. The moment the eye is confronted with text, there is a natural urge to read it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Putting too much text on a slide has the same effect. The speaker may expect the audience to pay attention only to the part of the text he is talking about and ignore the rest. In reality, while the speaker is talking about the text at the top, the audience will almost certainly be reading the text below.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The result is significant loss of attention. Since attention ensures better comprehension, using text-heavy slides is detrimental to speakers and listeners alike.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;To maintain attention, introduce text gradually, not all at once.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In the days of 35 mm and overhead transparencies, this was achieved by using “build-up slides”. For example, instead of showing five bullet points on a single slide, the speaker prepared six sides. The first slide showed only the title; the rest of the screen was left empty. The next one showed the title plus bullet point 1; the rest of the screen was left empty. The next slide showed the title plus bullet points 1 and 2. The same was done for each succeeding slide. It was only on the last slide that the full text (general statement + bullet points) became visible.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Producing six slides was of course considerably more expensive than producing only one. But it was also considerably more effective.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You should use the same technique with computer-generated slides. There is essentially no additional cost. Moreover, you can use animation to highlight each new bullet point as it appears on the screen in order to reinforce its importance. For example:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Slide 1&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Title&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Slide 2&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Title&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• First bullet point&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Slide 3&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Title&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• First bullet point&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Second bullet point&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Slide 4&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Title&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• First bullet point&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Second bullet point&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Third bullet point&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And so on.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Illustrated slides such as diagrams, flow charts, etc., work essentially the same way. Introduce the illustration piece by piece so that the audience will not be drawn to one part of the image while you are talking about another. There are three possible variations to this approach.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1. Introduce the illustration piece by piece, with commentary, until the illustration is complete&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2. Show the full illustration to give an overview. Then re-introduce it piece by piece, with commentary, until it is complete.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3. Show the full illustration to give an overview. However, occasionally revert to the overview to remind the audience of where the piece-by-piece build up is leading.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Read the Text to the Audience&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Another common mistake is for the speaker to continue talking while the audience is reading. Once again, this results in significant loss of attention.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The remedy is quite simple. The speaker should read the slide aloud to the audience. This ensures that:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• The attention of the listeners is first focused totally on the text.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Next, it is focused totally on the speaker.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If the speaker reads the slide aloud, the audience is not forced to do two things at the same time: reading the slide while trying to listening to the commentary. Attention is maintained, and everyone benefits.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;B. Use your laser pointer correctly&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My bête noire (black beast) is in fact red. It is the horrendous way many speakers use their laser pointers. Like old-fashioned stick pointers, lasers should be used to:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Help the audience identify and better understand the importance of key words and phrases in text slides.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Help the audience identify and better understand the importance of key elements in photos, drawings, diagrams, flow charts, and other illustrations.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Pointing is all that is necessary. Don’t keep circling key words or visual elements. Don’t keep swinging the laser beam back and forth across the screen. The eye will naturally follow these movements. Since they add nothing to the presentation, they subtract from it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The best way to avoid making these damaging gestures is by using the pointer as name implies. Just point to identify the key word or element you want to talk about, then turn it off. When you want to point to something else, simply turn it on again.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;C. Pace your slides&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Slides support what the speaker is saying. Therefore, they should:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Appear on the screen only when needed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Stay on the screen only as long as needed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The first point is obvious. You don’t want to show a slide before you are ready to talk about it. And of course hardly anyone ever does this.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Immediately removing the slide from the screen when it is no longer needed apparently is less obvious. Many speakers leave a slide on the screen while they talk about something else just to have something there until they are ready for the next one. Worse, they create “filler slides” they don’t really need just to have something there.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Both tactics damage the presentation. As long as something is on the screen, the eye will be attracted to it. This significantly reduces attention on what the speaker is saying, and so hurt comprehension.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When you don’t really need a slide, don’t show one. Either leave the screen blank or project a soft background color until the next slide is needed. Don't project a logo or any other illustration, which can only serve as a distraction.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If it will be several minutes before the next slide, turn the lights up so the audience can see who is talking to them. Remember, you are the star of the show, not the slides.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Properly used, slides can significantly boost the interest and effectiveness of a presentation. Poorly used, they can significantly damage a presentation. It takes only slightly more effort to do it well than to do it poorly. You can use meditation to improve mental health and capacities, for spiritual development, to improve your motivation for your goals and also to help improve the physical health. Some of these techniques are very simple, so you can learn them from a book or an article; others require guidance by a qualified meditation teacher.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;WHAT IS MEDITATION&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Most techniques called meditation include these components:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1. You sit or lie in a relaxed position with closed eyes.&lt;br /&gt;2. You breathe regularly. You breathe in deep enough to get enough oxygen. When you breathe out, you relax your muscles so that your lungs are well emptied, but without straining.&lt;br /&gt;3. You stop thinking about everyday problems and matters.&lt;br /&gt;4. You concentrate your thoughts upon some sound, some word you repeat, some image, some abstract concept or some feeling. Your whole attention should be pointed at the object you have chosen to concentrate upon.&lt;br /&gt;5. If some foreign thoughts creep in, you just stop this foreign thought, and go back to the object of meditation.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The different meditation techniques differ according to the degree of concentration, and how foreign thoughts are handled. By some techniques, the objective is to concentrate so intensely that no foreign thoughts occur at all.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In other techniques, the concentration is more relaxed so that foreign thoughts easily pop up. When these foreign thoughts are discovered, one stops these and goes back to the pure meditation in a relaxed manner. Thoughts coming up, will often be about things you have forgotten or suppressed, and allow you to rediscover hidden memory material. This rediscovery will have a psychotherapeutic effect.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;THE EFFECTS OF MEDITATION&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Meditation has the following effects:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1. Meditation will reduce stress and give you rest and recreation.&lt;br /&gt;2. You learn to relax.&lt;br /&gt;3. You learn to concentrate better on problem solving.&lt;br /&gt;4. Meditation often has a good effect upon the blood pressure.&lt;br /&gt;5. Meditation has beneficial effects upon inner body processes, like circulation, respiration and digestion.&lt;br /&gt;6. Regular meditation will have a psychotherapeutically effect.&lt;br /&gt;7. Regular meditation will facilitate the immune system.&lt;br /&gt;8. Meditation is usually pleasant.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HYPNOSIS AND MEDITATION&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Hypnosis may have some of the same relaxing and psychotherapeutic effects as meditation. However, when you meditate you are in control yourself; by hypnosis you let some other person or some mechanical device control you. Also hypnosis will not have a training effect upon the ability to concentrate.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A SIMPLE FORM OF MEDITATION&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here is a simple form of meditation. By this meditation technique, you should concentrate in an easy manner. This will allow foreign thoughts to pop up. These are handled one by one as they appear. You proceed as follows:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1. Sit in a good chair in a comfortable position.&lt;br /&gt;2. Close your eyes and relax all your muscles as well as you can.&lt;br /&gt;3. Stop thinking about anything, or at least try not to think about anything.&lt;br /&gt;4. Breath out, relaxing all the muscles in your breathing apparatus.&lt;br /&gt;5. Repeat the following in 10 - 20 minutes:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;-- Breath in so deep that you feel you get enough oxygen.&lt;br /&gt;-- Breath out, relaxing your chest and diaphragm completely.&lt;br /&gt;-- Every time you breathe out, think the word "one" or another simple word inside yourself. You should think the word in a prolonged manner, and so that you hear it inside you, but you should try to avoid using your mouth or voice.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;6. If foreign thoughts come in, just stop these thoughts in a relaxed manner, and keep on concentrating upon the breathing and the word you repeat.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As you proceed through this meditation, you should feel steadily more relaxed in your mind and body, feel that you breathe steadily more effectively, and that the blood circulation throughout your body gets more efficient. You may also feel an increasing mental pleasure throughout the meditation.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;THE EFFECTS OF MEDITATION UPON DISEASES&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As any kind of training, meditation may be exaggerated so that you get tired and worn out. Therefore you should not meditate so long or so concentrated that you feel tired or mentally emptied.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Meditation may sometimes give problems for people suffering from mental diseases, epilepsy, serious heart problems or neurological diseases. On the other hand, meditation may be of help in the treatment of these and other conditions.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;People suffering from such conditions should check out what effects the different kinds of meditation have on their own kind of health problems, before beginning to practise meditation, and be cautious if they choose to begin to meditate. You could prepare for weeks, select the best words and key messages, you could have the best introduction, middle section and ending than any speaker on the bill, but your impact could be negligible. A few year's ago I became a school governor and as such, I was offered training sessions by my local Education Authority. The general standard of the 2 hour presentations was good. One evening, the guest speaker, a man who had worked in education all his life with a career that spanned being a headmaster, Ofsted inspector and a senior role in the Ministry of Education and Science; what this fellow didn't know about the history of secondary education was not worth knowing. However, he ended every sentence with a pronounced hmmmmmmmmm. Imagine that 6 times per minute, for two hours.... I nearly lost the will to live.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Tip&lt;/span&gt; - Listen and react to feedback from your colleagues. I'm certain that over the course of this fellow's long and distinguished career, many people must have mentioned his verbal mannerisms. If your company culture prohibits you from giving constructive feedback, seek professional help. Advice from consultants is more likely to be accepted because it is seen to be given objectively.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2. Speaking too fast.Nervous and inexperienced speakers always remind me of the 100 metres sprint. They hear the gun, they're out of the blocks fast and they can't wait to get it over with. This is not unusual - it is the normal reaction to any potentially stressful situation. Let's close our eyes, do it, and get it over with. It's a bit like going to the dentist. However, some speakers do not even devote themselves to such minimal preparation.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Tip&lt;/span&gt; - for each minute of your speech, spend ten minutes of preparation on it. Watch yourself on video and ask yourself if you're delivering too fast.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3. Keep it short and simple and always leave them wanting more. The best way to maintain the attention of an audience is to start with a gripping opening, develop a maximum of three themes or key messages, and conclude with a message that pulls the introduction and key messages together with impact. An experienced speaker can make this look simple and seamless, but we're looking at perhaps 0.001 of what an audience remember is down to the effective use of tonal variety. A massive 55% relates to your body language. If you send a mixed message, don't be surprised if the message is dropped. That number points out the absolute importance of allowing users to choose their own interest groups and have control over which business e-mails they receive. The most popular interest categories, according to the study, are coupons and household goods.&lt;br /&gt;     &lt;br /&gt;But you're coupon is no good unless the user opens the email. Users in the study said the most compelling reason for them to open a business email is the name in the "from" field. So it's a good idea to make sure your company name is clearly stated there. Another major factor is the "subject" line. Users cite discount offers and interesting news as the most compelling subject lines, followed by new product announcements and free shipping offers.&lt;br /&gt;     &lt;br /&gt;      &lt;strong&gt;4. Click-through and conversion: Show me the money! &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So the user has opened your email and read the content. Great. But where's the sale? There's good news here. For one, consumers are increasingly likely to make purchases as a direct result of a business email campaign. One-third of users in the DoubleClick study had purchased something by clicking a link on an email. Another 42% clicked on an email link for more information, then purchased the product at a later time. Second, online couponing is booming: 73% of consumers have redeemed an online coupon for an online purchase, and 59% have redeemed an online coupon offline.&lt;br /&gt;     &lt;br /&gt;In terms of industries, the top performers are travel, hardware/software, electronics, apparel, food, home furnishings, gifts/flowers and sporting goods. The overall landscape for email marketing conversions is looking brighter every day. I have heard this saying all off my life, and I am sure you have too, "laughter is the best medicine". Well, I guess it really is. Can you imagine going to the doctor's office and instead of a prescription you get a list of comedy videos or a couple of names of good joke books? Wouldn't that seem strange? Studies and researchers have discovered that laughter affects the body in many, many, good ways and we don't even realize it.&lt;br /&gt;     &lt;br /&gt;Have you ever thought that your blood pressure can be lowered, laughter reduces stress, and laughter even helps your immune system? Why do more people not use this very pleasant pain free "drug"? I think this will be my drug of choice from now on. We just need to get more people turned on to it. Would you agree? Don't think you can replace eating right and daily exercise with laughing for fifteen minutes a day. You still need to continue this, but next time it is raining or cold out-side and you can't get in you day of physical activity, just go to your local video rental store, or turn on the comedy channel on your TV and have yourself a really good belly laugh. The endothelium, the inner lining of a blood vessel has a great effect when it comes to regulating blood flow. The purpose of the endothelium is to regulate the thickening of the blood and secrete certain chemicals in response to wounds, infection, cuts, or irritations.&lt;br /&gt;     &lt;br /&gt;The endothelium is the first place doctors look when evaluating a condition of the hardening of the arteries. As a result of this study, could it be possible to tie laughter to the healthy functioning of the endothelium, and therefore to healthier blood vessels? Many members of the medical field are admitting that it is a distinct possibility. Laughter offsets the impact of mental stress which is harmful to the endothelium. A group of men and women, equally divided with an average age of 33 participated in a study to try and prove or disprove this theory. They were all non-smokers with relatively few other medical conditions, and had received average results for blood pressure checks, cholesterol checks, and glucose levels. The subjects were asked to watch two movies: one that produced laughter, and one that produced mental stress. The movies were shown 48 hours apart, and the subjects were monitored for blood flow changes such as blood pressure, blood flow levels, and vessel relaxation. What happened? The subjects' bodies behaved as though they had partaken in physical activity, without the usual pain of exercise. As you can see, researchers have gone to great lengths to check this out.&lt;br /&gt;     &lt;br /&gt;The results of the studies point to the laughter/health connection. Once again we can see where laughter plays a very important role in our health and happiness. Like I said earlier, laughing does not take the place of exercise but can be used as an exercise. Suppose you had a day when it was thundering, lightning and raining cats and dogs. It would be tempting to curl up on the sofa with a book or watch TV. Well that might not be so bad if you got the right book or the right TV program. You will need to spend a little time and find something that will be funny. It will be best if it can give you a large amount of belly laughs. If it is not raining today and you have the time, go ahead and plan for your rainy day by getting your movie and book ready.&lt;br /&gt;     &lt;br /&gt;Who knows you may even want to use them when you return from your walk. Another little hint: if you have family or friends include them in your laughter exercise. It certainly won't hurt anybody and could possibly turn into a regular habit. We all know that physical exercise is a must if you are to enjoy good health. We also know that some of us do not particularly like exercise everyday. That's where laughter comes in as a big helper. Whether we have to exercise, by that I mean walk, jog, ride a bike or lift weights, we can make the time pass quicker with laughter included. Don't you feel better when you are down and out and can watch a good comedy show or a good funny movie, I know I always do. human evolution.&lt;br /&gt;However, the majority of people who use affirmation find that it doesn’t work.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Why is this the case?&lt;br /&gt;What are the elements that people have missed when they use affirmation techniques?&lt;br /&gt;I constantly ask myself these questions, and seek for the answers.&lt;br /&gt;The result is, no one book gives the complete answer. Some tips given in one book work for a specific situation, but not for others. Other books give other tips that work for other situations, but not for this.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have tested and filtered out the ineffective ones, and left only what I call the ultimate effective technique secrets. The purpose of affirmation:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;    Before I give you the effective techniques, I must make you understand the true purpose of affirmation. Simply stated, the purpose of affirmation is to pass a command from the conscious mind to the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind has the ability, in anything it accepts as true, to do whatever it takes to turn it into reality. The purpose of an affirmation is to pass a message to the subconscious mind, and to make it believe the message is true. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;So this brings us to the first element of an effective affirmation.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1. The affirmation must be believable to the subconscious mindMost of the affirmations people use, fail at this first stage. They tend to give an unrealistic message to the subconscious mind, hoping for a positive response. If you are financially broke, and you say to yourself “I earn $100,000 per year”, is this believable to your mind ? If your body is totally out of shape, and you say to yourself “I am very attractive”, is this believable to your mind ? I doubt it. What if you are currently broke, and you want to make $100,000 per year ? What if you are out of shape, and you want to make yourself attractive ? I find the best and easiest way is to use the word “I choose” in your affirmation. Instead of saying “I earn $100,000 per year.” Say “I choose to earn $100,000 per year” Instead of saying “I am very attractive” Say “I choose to feel that people find me attractive” Do you feel the difference ?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2. The subconscious mind seeks for proofThere is a misconception that the affirmation must be repeated thousands of times before it can be installed in the subconscious mind. This is not necessarily true. You can use the repetition method to embed your affirmation, but there is an easier way. It is, at the time you find the proof, state your affirmation. Many people stay in poverty because they associate pain with money. Whenever they spend their money, they think of their bills, loans etc. This will automatically lead to ultimate pain. It is the feeling you attach to money that makes you rich or poor. How can we turn this to our advantage ? Instead of feeling pain when spending money, what if we associate pleasure with it ? Next time when you go out shopping, at the moment you take out your money or credit card, say this affirmation to yourself “I always have more than enough to spend.” See how you feel. This works because the subconscious mind sees the proof. As long as you have some money left in your pocket, this affirmation is always true, so the subconscious mind will believe it. How about if we combine the first and second methods together and make an affirmation like this: “I choose to feel that I always have more than enough to spend.” Say this at the time you spend your money. See how you feel. You don’t have to repeat it thousands of times, a few times of real life proof will make your subconscious mind believe it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3. The affirmation must trigger feelingsA fact about the subconscious mind is that it does not speak in words, you can only communicate with it through feelings, and emotions. There are two methods that you can use to trigger your feelings. The first method is to use words that involve feelings. Words like “fun, enjoyable, comfortable, delightful” will work effectively. The second method is to use imagination. Visualize that the situation stated in your affirmation has already come true. See yourself in that situation and feel the feelings.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;4. The affirmation must obey the 3 Ps factor.The 3 Ps are Positive, Present Tense, and Personal. Affirmations must be stated positively. Instead of saying “I am not fat”, say “I choose to stay slim”. The reason for this is that before the mind knows the meaning of, “I am not fat”, it must think of what fat means first. So saying that statement will inevitably lead to the feeling of being fat. Affirmations must be in the present tense. Many books mention this. However, I only agree to some extent. If you say “I have a luxury car”, your mind will not believe you. The reason I include this here is that once it is combined with the first technique, it will work perfectly. Now say “I choose to have a luxury car”. Your mind will do its best to bring it into reality. Affirmations must be personal. Your subconscious mind only works for you, not for others. If you say “Ann loves me”, it will not be effective, because you have no control over Ann. Now say “I choose to feel that Ann really loves me”. This time you are in control, because you can control your own feelings.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;5. Personal development affirmations should be stated in the comparative“I am confident” may not be as effective as “I am becoming more and more confident”. An even better affirmation might be “I choose to feel more and more confident”. The reason for using the comparative, is because there is no end to how much more confident you can become. Otherwise, your mind may think you are already confident enough, and it will not need to do any more work. These 5 techniques are the most effective ones that I have found from my research on affirmations. If you can use all the 5 techniques, I guarantee your results will be amazing.
